Dr. John E. Baylor (Professor Emeritus, Agronomy Extension) received the 2007 Pasto Agricultural Museum Volunteer Recognition Award. Dr. Baylor has had a long and distinguished career as a Penn State Profess of Agronomy Extension. He has also been actively engaged in all activities of the Pasto Agricultural Museum and is responsible for the design and implementation of the 300 Years of Haymaking in Pennsylvania, 1640-1940: From Seed to Feed project. Dr. Baylor devoted several years to the project which entailed raising $12,000 to cover the project's costs; collecting haymaking equipment and tools; and arranging for a total hay production and processing exhibit, including a 24' x 24' hay barn and mule powered hay bailing demonstration, at Ag Progress Days. In addition, a nine-minute DVD produced by WPSU, Penn State Public Broadcasting, as well as a brochure covering the history of haymaking were based on the project.
