2006 Volunteer Recognition Award

Shown with award recipient Dr. Glenn G. Carter are Left to Right: Ronald Johnson, President of the Advisory Board, Dean Robert Steele, who made the presentation, and Darwin Braund, Volunteer Curator, holding the permanent plaque listing names of all awardees.

Dr. Glenn G. Carter ('56 Ag Econ) received the 2006 Pasto Agricultural Museum Volunteer Recognition Award for a multitude of services. He became immersed with the museum in 1999 when it transitioned away from a long-time relationship with the Ag Alumni Society and the new volunteer curator was asked to set up an organizational structure to operate independently from the Ag Alumni Society. Glenn's unique leadership skills became abundantly clear as he chaired the initial organizational meetings that led to the formation of the Pasto Agricultural Museum Advisory Board with By-Laws authored by him.

During his six years on the board in addition to being President and Secretary, he chaired the committees for the Silent Auction, Volunteer Recruitment and Training, Long Range Planning and authored that final report. If all this wasn't enough, Glenn has been an always-willing museum guide and worker whenever needed.
